Service Learning Student Awareness in Action

Service Learning, Student Awareness in Action was an event that purposed to create awareness for Service Learning and set the launching of Tangaza University Students’ Service-Learning Alliance (TUSSLA) within the campus. The event was student – led headed by the Congress members and TANSA officials.

In his speech, the Service-Learning Club Patron, Mr. Daniel Mwangi thanked everyone for their efforts and for joining clubs within the university. He outlined that the alliance formed was a model to the other African Universities whom Tangaza University College (TUC) host.

During the event, the TANSA and Congress speakers were given the opportunity to introduce other official and share their knowledge on Service Learning. It was from the forum that some of the Tangaza Club officials/representative were given the chance to brief participants about their respective activities in various clubs.

The Service-Learning Regional Coordinator and the team has championed for the formation of Student club alliances. The TUSSLA patron, Mr. Daniel Mwangi believes that the formation of Student Service-Learning Alliance will help in the co-ordination of Service-Learning student led activities at the universities. The idea is, through the office of the Dean of students and the university student leadership, several activities within the country and across the region will be coordinated efficiently and effectively. The Alliance which will be replicated in all member universities will follow the 5- part Service-Learning clubs’ program.
