The Regional Hub Coordinator, Africa together with Service-Learning team members, purposed to visit Africa Hub Supported Institutions – Université Catholique de l’Afrique Centrale (Cameroon), Mwenge Catholic University (Tanzania), University of Kisubi, (Uganda) and Loyola University of Congo (DR Congo).
The universities have been recently incorporated into the Uniservitate global programme under the coordination of Tangaza University College (Kenya). They have received the visit of Dr. Judith Pete from Tangaza University College, referent of the Regional Hub of the Uniservitate network in Africa.
The aim of the visits was to build a strong foundation and strengthen SL institutionalization processes at the supported institutions. A more practical and implementable action plans for these institutions have also been jointly developed. The representatives of both institutions took advantage of the meetings to exchange ideas, experiences and outline a plan of joint actions to strengthen the link, unify efforts and grow the programme and its initiatives in the region.
After a mentoring and training process, they will seek to promote and encourage the institutionalization of Service Learning in higher education in their respective countries.
